Nicole Favron grew up in the Yukon on the traditional territory of the Trʼondëk Hwëchʼin First Nation. Much of her work is dedicated to place and space, and how the two interact. Using a multi-media approach, she creates unique hand-crafted works and often experiments with installation and the curating of found objects. Nicole chooses to weave personal stories throughout her works, which invite viewers into her memories and guides them to reflect on their own.
Nicole is the 2020 recipient of the Yukon BMO1st! Art Award. That same year, she had her first solo exhibition, Nicci Favron, at the Jimmy’s Place Collective in Dawson City, Yukon. She is currently completing her Bachelor of Fine Arts at Thompson Rivers University, located on the traditional and unceded territory of the Tk’emlúps te Secwepemc.
